Normally we use Zoom for these meetings. The problem with Zoom is that meetings are limited to 40 minutes so what we've done till now is to create two 30 minute back-to back links and hopped from the first to the second after thirty minutes the idea being that we then get a sum total of one hour zoom time (two back-to-back 40 minute links doesn't work because zoom meeting times are bounded by the hour and half-hour and a host can't overlap meetings). Whereby provides a similar 30 minute service to Zoom but also has an Embedded option which enables someone familiar with web construction to embed code into a website with a more useful result. By using the Embedded facility of Whereby we can have a continuous one-hour uninterrupted conversation. Ordinary Whereby is just like Zoom and is limited to 30 minutes per meeting. However, the Embedded option provides us with the opportunity of embedding some code into an existing website and running a meeting from there. Another advantage of Whereby Embedded is that the 'link' as such only has to be defined once and can be used forever. There is, however, a restriction which is that my (free) account is constrained to using 2000 person minutes a month - which for us is plenty.
At the appointed time (i.e. 5pm London time on June 4th in the first instance) please select the 'Start Whereby' button that you'll find towards the bottom of the yellow text box to the right. The meeting should then happen. If for any reason it doesn't (happen) then I've provided a couple of normal Zoom links for us to use and shall be contacting everyone by email. If we need to use the Zoom option then select 'Start/Join a Zoom' from the dropdown menu you will be presented with two links (zoom1 and zoom2). Run zoom1 first and after 40 minutes change to zoom2.
(Note: I've discovered that a '30' minute Zoom session can actually be run for 40 minutes. Also, the actual start time of a Zoom session is not related to the 'official' start time as specified in the Zoom scheduler which means that a consecutive pair of 30 minute Zoom sessions (as scheduled) can span 80 minutes. Also, it would appear that Zoom links can be used forever as can Whereby links.)
I've tested this arrangement with a PC running Windows 10 and an iPad. When using a PC the window in which Whereby is presented is manageable by grabbing the bottom right-hand corner of the window and dragging it to change its size. This doesn't work for an iPad. To evercome this I've introduced two further options (==> and <==) in the dropdown menu which enable you to stretch and shrink the Whereby window as desired.

To make things simpler I've introduced a single "Start Whereby" button below which you should click.
